Our client is a leading Aerospace solutions provider, currently seeking a Business Development Manager to develop and grow business opportunities over the next 2-5 years - achieved through a variety of means from growing small accounts, to identifying engineering capability and developing technology to meet future market needs.

Successful candidates will come from an engineered product background (including design/development) and have an eye for strategic opportunities, alongside financial acumen.

Job Description

  • Development of accounts large and small with the goal to increase sales over an allotted period
  • Understanding current market situations/trends and using this to develop sales plans/new business plans to increase work orders and in time increase sales revenue
  • Representing the business at Trade Events or Customer meetings, discussing business with potential new customers as well as marketing the product range that the business can provide
  • Discussing with the research teams when identifying future platforms/programs that are potential growth opportunities
  • To be able to spot longer term opportunities looking ahead of the current sales (Ideally 2-5 years down the line)
  • Undertaking travel internationally to support customer meetings
  • Creating and sending information, quotations and proposals to customers in a timely manner

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications required:

  • Proven experience within a Design, Develop, manufacture environment.
  • Excellent negotiation/business development knowledge

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications required:

  • Degree qualified in a technical/engineering-based subject
  • Knowledge of the Aerospace market and/or experience dealing with aerospace customers
