Business Analyst

We are recruiting for a Business Analyst to join our Business Improvement and Control team. The role is based in Reading, Berkshire.

Reporting to: Director of Risk
Location: Reading

Salary up to £55,000 per annum.

Role purpose

The Business Analyst will support business improvement initiatives and projects by understanding business change needs, assessing the impact of those changes, capturing, analysing and documenting requirements and processes and then supporting the communication and delivery of those new requirements with relevant parties throughout the project lifecycle. Role responsibilities will include:

  • Operates across all areas of the business and at all levels of the business
  • Facilitates and supports information gathering workshops
  • Documents business needs including business processes and requirements
  • Supports system and process changes by creating and maintaining design documentation
  • Works with business users to identify, analyse, evaluate and problem solve existing operational issues
  • Supports the business in defining (and where appropriate executing) test plans including creating test scenarios
  • Understands and contributes to project plans and implements agreed actions in a timely manner
  • Adheres to the agreed project methodology and provides feedback where appropriate
  • Proactively provides project support to the project manager and project teams
  • Assists business users in implementation and embedding of change
Essential role specific skills
  • Strong business process mapping (Visio) and analysis experience
  • Knowledge of SQL databases
  • Understanding of project management methodologies
  • Experienced in understanding, documenting and prioritising business requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills (including root cause analysis)
  • Ability to understand and operate with both technology and business users
  • Experienced in working on multiple projects concurrently, whilst keeping to agreed timeframes
  • Ability to motivate others and drive change
  • Ability to articulate (present) to user groups
  • Confident in building and maintaining effective relationships with 3rd party suppliers
  • Demonstrate a logical, analytical and inquisitive nature
