Block Manager (Property Manager)

Location: Potters Bar Area, Hertfordshire

Job Vacancy Description (Tasks and Responsibilities)

  • Oversee the smooth running of the portfolio
  • Attend and prepare for regular meetings
  • Chair and minute meetings as appropriate and take actions resulting from these
  • Budget & financial control
  • Monthly charges run
  • Monthly reports
  • Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders
  • Hand over defaulting leaseholders in the portfolio to debt collectors/ external attorneys as per building mandate
  • Manage accounts
  • Liaison with councils and utility providers
  • Confirm charges information for clearance figures upon sale of a unit
  • Insurance
  • Annual Audit preparation
  • Building take-on and hand-over
  • Resolving of queries received on the portfolio

Candidate Requirements (Skills and Experience)

Requirements

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with role players
  • Knowledge of financial administration
  • Effective numeracy and data entry skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and grasp the urgency of departmental activities
  • Ability to multi task without losing focus
  • The incumbent must have completed a Minimum school education of GSCE level and have an excellent command of English as written and spoken language. Previous bookkeeping/ accounting experience, specifically in the property industry will be advantageous. Knowledge of bookkeeping/ accounting practices and generally accepted accounting principles are recommended. Knowledge of RICS and ARMA are preferred.
