Azure Platform Engineer - Commodities Trading Firm

London, £85K-£95K + Benefits & Bonus

My client are looking for an Azure Platform Engineer to contribute to the critical design and implementation, of solutions within private Azure cloud environment. You will report into the DevOps team to architect and deliver cloud-based solutions and reusable design patterns across multiple development teams.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Define and maintain cloud procedures to ensure everything is fully documented
  • Working with development teams to help achieve their cloud transformation objectives - including design, development and enhancement of solutions
  • Providing expert level Azure platform and infrastructure support
  • They're seeking individuals with strong expertise in;
  • Cloud infrastructure, including server, storage, networking and PaaS products such as Azure SQL, WebApps and container orchestration tools
  • Solid grasp of DevOps practices (scripting and automation with tools like Terraform and ARM)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products such as Azure AD, ADFS, and Azure SQL.

Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge of common database and caching technologies, such as Azure SQL, CosmosDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, Memcache, or Redis.
  • Experience of containers and container orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes and AKS.
  • Exposure to iterative/agile development methodologies and experience of enabling team delivery through technology.
  • An appreciation for SRE and monitoring using tools such as ELK stack.
