Azure/Linux Engineer

Experienced Linux and Azure Engineer Required for an immediate start!

- 6 months initially

- 3575-600 per day inside IR35

- 1 Day per week on site in London

Overview:

Working with both Linux-based systems and Azure cloud services, combining expertise in cloud computing and open-source technologies.

You will be involved in; designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions while ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of Linux environments.

• Manage and maintain Linux-based systems (installation, configuration, troubleshooting, patching and performance tuning)
• Implement and maintain monitoring solutions
• Integration of Linux infrastructure with other technologies and services.
• Optimize our systems for Azure and DC environments.
• Provide support and guidance to other team members on Linux-related issues.
• Planning and implementation work to install and maintain our systems
• Lead and investigate operational incidents as needed, providing reports and proposals for improvement to specialists, users, and managers. Participate in reviews of infrastructure performance, advise, and assist specialists or other system or service providers to plan amendments and other improvements to infrastructure and its operation.

• Knowledge of Installation and upgrades of RHEL/CentOS
• Experience of patching RHEL/CentOS (with yum, or third-party Linux patch tools)
• Knowledge of filesystem management, creating, adding, and expanding
• Knowledge of SSH/SSHD (key exchange set-up and troubleshooting)
• Knowledge of 'vi' or other Linux text editors for file editing
• Experience with support and troubleshooting Linux environments.
• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting, JSON, Terraforms and CLI.
• Knowledge and experience of relevant Operating Systems/Firmware covering the following platforms: Windows, Cisco, UNIX, Linux (Use of CLI with Bash, Phython, Perl etc across all Distros).
• Understanding of containerisation, including Docker or Kubernetes, and awareness of the concepts of CI/CD using GitHub.
• MS Azure services, including but not limited to Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, Azure Active Directory, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, etc.
