Application Support Analyst - Chichester
About the role
We are supporting West Sussex County Council to achieve their objectives through our partnership with them, which delivers a range of back, middle office and customer facing services on behalf of West Sussex, including IT.
We are currently looking for an Application Support Analyst to join our Applications Support Team based at County Hall in Chichester.
As part of a busy team supporting the day to day activities of the many systems and applications used by residents of West Sussex County and its Council employees and partners you will log queries and investigate solutions using Capita's VFire IT Service Management tool and the workflow developed to support this.
Applications supported are a mix of pure Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) systems, commercial applications that have been customised/tailored specifically for WSCC use and completely in-house developed programmes not available anywhere else.

Your experience will include:
Knowledge of the following would be desirable but training will be given and being quick to learn and technically competent is more important that an in depth understanding.
- Relational databases and their structure (e.g SQL)
- Data Warehousing
- Business Objects
Candidates must however have a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - in particular Outlook, Excel and Word as well as experience in SQL. They must be a good team player but be able to work under minimal supervision on occasion.
