Ref: H241

Closing date: Sunday 30 September 2018

The Client

Situated in West Hertfordshire, the Borough of Dacorum is composed of the main towns of Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring, with large areas of Green Belt and Outstanding Natural Beauty, historic settlements and buildings.

This Council is committed to working in partnership to create a borough which enables the communities of Dacorum to thrive and prosper. Since 2012 we have delivered over £6 million of savings while also increasing performance and satisfaction across key services. We have an ambitious regeneration programme and for the first time in over 20 years we have been building our own houses. We are in an enviable location just outside the M25 and only a 27-minute train journey from Central London.

With continued pressure on services and decreasing funding there are still tough challenges ahead. But with those challenges comes a great opportunity for our officers to add real value to our Council by creating services that are innovative, cost-effective, and tailored to the needs of our residents.

Role Overview

The Council is now looking to recruit an Animal & Pest Control Officer.

You’ll be at the sharp end of our service for commercial, residential and government properties where you'll be visiting our customers across Dacorum to make inspections and carry out treatments. As well as undertaking pest control work you will assist the Dog Warden in their work and be involved in enforcing animal and pest related legislation.

As the successful candidate(s) you must be keen to work in a busy team, have excellent customer service, and be highly motivated.

A check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly Criminal Records Bureau) to ensure that the successful candidate for the above post has no relevant convictions.
