We are recruiting for our client based in the Craven Arms area who are looking for a confident and competent Accountant to join their Finance team. To be shortlisted for this excellent opportunity in a dynamic and friendly team you will have:
• Experience of working in £2M+ turnover businesses with 2-3 years' practical experience 
• You will be fully qualified or part qualified at AAT4 / degree level and keen to progress to full qualification (ACCA or CIMA)
• You need to have 2+ years experience as an Accountant, able to hit the ground running.
• Sage experience is highly desirable as our client currently use Sage 50 and will be moving to another Sage system in the near future
• You will need to demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast paced, commercial environment
Responsibilities will include:
  • Production of month end management accounts for review by the Head of Accounting. This will include ensuring the month end check list is complete.
  • Preparation of monthly cashflow forecast.
  • Reviewing the creditor balances at least weekly and ensure all balances are valid and correctly stated.
  • Duties will include month ends, bank reconciliation, VAT returns, prepayments, accruals and global transfers.
  • Production of month end management accounts for review by the Head of Accounting. This will include ensuring the month end check list is complete.
  • Preparation of monthly cashflow forecast.
  • Review of the creditor balances at least weekly and ensure all balances are valid and correctly stated.
  • Prepare the budget for each location’s operating expenses on an annual basis and ensure results are discussed with Finance on a monthly basis including variances to plan.

A competitive salary of £35K - £40K pa is offered, with the right candidate ideally starting in November but our client can wait, if needed, for the right person.
Working hours are 9.00am - 5.30pm with one hour for lunch.
Our client has a policy of flexibility and working hours can be changed by agreement, including home working.  20 days holiday plus all UK bank holidays. A Pension Scheme is offered which is not compulsory.
Company laptop will be provided. The business will be closed between Christmas and New Year and no extra holidays need to be booked for those days.
