We are happy to discuss flexible working!What this role is all about:Maintaining Vitality’s data assets is a critical function that helps to improve the way decisions are made and customers are served. Vitality relies on its data assets to engineer new products, improve current products, and create better ways of providing value to customers.The Associate Information Analyst will focus on activities relating to collation, interpretation and mapping of business requirements across Vitality Group to existing data structures, and identify gaps. They will also be involved in set-up & ongoing maintenance of regular reporting outputs that are used by the business and its customers for insight generation.Data analysis is a key component of the role, where reconciliations & summarisations are required to assist with interpretation and the enhancement of business understanding.A further significant element is liaison between the business and technical teams, whereby strong communication skills (verbal and written) are preferable.Key Actions Assist with definition and documentation of analytics and reporting data requirements, including user stories, for new data and reporting assets across the Data & Information Services department.Help to assess impacts and validate changes to existing assets.Gathering requirements is key to the role, and will entail participating in multiple collection methods, such as brainstorming, requirement workshops, focus groups, etc. All requirements will need to be validated, analysed, interpreted, prioritised, auditable, and documented. Monitoring and amending requirements over time will be important to ensure deliverables match the changing nature of business needs.Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders across Vitality group; to participate on projects and deliverables from inception to completion.Ability to assist with business cases creation, and justify the feasibility of business data needs by making sure all the high-level requirements are listed in the scope of a deliverable.Get hands-on with testing and production proving to ensure deliverables meet the business need & cover off all requirements submitted. This may include representation within presentations and show & tells sessions.Assisting in the set-up, oversight, monitoring and issue resolution of automated report delivery. This will include monthly scheduled reports and ad-hoc outputs. Actively work with other Information Analysts on 1st line support for data queries, to help determine cause & extent of issues identified.Develop a foundational working understanding and insight into the Vitality business, data and the analytics community, to ensure changes are managed appropriately and effectively. What do you need to thrive? Keen interests in business and technology, and particularly regarding data, analysis and software development.Foundational knowledge of data profiling and data analysis using sql technology (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle).Excel knowledge, including macros, pivots, complex formula, graphical summarisation & reporting.Visualisation skills, preferably with a foundational understanding of Power BI.Investigative, analytical and logical problem solving skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work well in a team.Strong knowledge of general software – in particular Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat.Ability to quickly learn new skills and software.
