Our client, an established, forward thinking firm of Chartered Accountants are seeking an Accountant to join their expanding accounts team in their Fareham office. This role will involve dealing with a mixed portfolio of clients to include preparing the accounts for Limited Companies, LLPs, Sole Traders and Partnerships, Corporation tax returns and preparing and filing personal tax returns under the supervision of the Portfolio Managers. Key duties:-Preparation of year end accounts calculating business and personal tax, using the CCH software suitePreparation and commentary of Management AccountsUse of automated software packages such as Xero, Dext, Sage & QuickBooks to process client data and prepare and submit VAT & CIS Returns Work on file review points and prepare accounts packs and letters for submission to the clientDealing with, and advising on personal tax issues under the supervision of the qualified Accountants ensuring compliance with tax legislation and filing personal tax returnsAssist in ad-hoc accountancy duties throughout the year including P11D submissions, ATED etc. Assist the Portfolio Managers with the delivery of work flows to meet deadlines & budgetsGain a good understanding of all areas of the practice and familiarisation of the processes undertaken by each area including Company Secretarial Mentoring and coaching less experienced members of staff as requiredEnsuring procedures, policies, legislation and regulations are correctly followed and complied withWorking closely with the colleagues to ensure quality of output and efficiency of proceduresUndertake any other duties which may be required by management commensurate to the roleYou will ideally have at least 3 years UK accounting experience in practice and hold a professional qualification such as AAT Level 4, or working towards this or you may be qualified by experience.A good working knowledge of Xero, Sage, Dext and QuickBooks would be an advantage, along with a good understanding of year end accounts, management accounts, personal and corporate tax.You may also be asked to attend the firm's other offices or clients' premises from time to time, so access to a vehicle would be required.This is a great opportunity within a professional firm, with good benefits, flexible working and onsite parking.
