Job Title: HR Case Manager - Absence Location: Bexley - DA1 5QJ Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum, Depending on Experience Job Type: Full time, Fixed Term Contract for 12 months Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30-5.30 About Us: Countrystyle Recycling is one of the leading independent commercial waste management, processing, and recycling operations in the UK. About the role: As a HR Case Manager focusing on absence management, you will act as a trusted advisor to line managers and employees, providing practical guidance and support. Main Responsibilities: Oversee and support line managers with end-to-end absence management processes, including sickness, family leave, and other absenceWork closely with line managers to ensure timely and consistent handling of absence-related issuesSupport managers in handling long-term absence casesWork with line managers to facilitate occupational health referrals and follow up accordinglyEnsure timely, supportive, and safe return-to-work processes are in place, tailored to the needs of each caseAnalyse absence data to identify patterns, risks, and areas for proactive interventionEnsure compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies related to absence managementPrepare and present weekly reports to the senior management team, offering insights on case trends, absence data, and risk areasPromote early intervention with support and resources to address underlying issuesLead or support initiatives that enhance mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing across the workforce using employee assistance offeringsEnsure all employees are fully informed about the organisation's absence policies, including entitlements, procedures, and expectationsWork proactively with line managers and employees to minimise the duration of employee absence, balancing business needs with individual circumstancesRecognise the connection between engagement, satisfaction, and attendance and apply this insight to guide HR strategiesProvide flexible support to the broader HR function as needed About you: Essential Skills, Experience, Qualifications & Competencies: Ability to remain objective and handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and empathyExceptional communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skillsStrong understanding of employment law and HR best practicesProven experience of case managementHR information systems including cascadeEducated to minimum of GCSE standard with passes in English and Maths Desirable Skills, Experience, Qualifications & Competencies: Good presentation skillsHR experience in the Waste sectorCIPD qualification or equivalent Benefits: Life Insurance with access to GP24Commitment to wellbeing through Employee Assistance ProgrammeElectric Car salary sacrifice scheme for eligible employeesCycle to work schemeCompany EventsGymFlex salary sacrifice Please click the APPLY button to submit your CV for this role Candidates with experience or relevant job titles of Human Resources Manager, HR Case Resolution, Human Resources Consultant, People Manager, Human Resources Executive, HR Advisor, Conflict Resolution Advisor, Case Manager may be considered for this role.
