Reserving Actuary
Arthur is delighted to be collaborating with a global insurance group who are seeking a Reserving Actuary to join their London Market reserving team. This role provides an opportunity to work on quarterly reserve reviews, regulatory reporting, and planning, with regular interaction with senior management and actuarial colleagues across different functions.Responsibilities: Conduct quarterly reserve reviews for specific lines of business, including calculation of central estimates and management’s best estimate.Present reserve review results to underwriting, finance, and senior management.Support Solvency II Technical Provision calculations and related regulatory reporting.Assist with annual reserve risk parameterisation and liaise with auditors and internal teams.Contribute to loss ratio planning by integrating reserving insights into pricing and planning exercises.Maintain and enhance reserving databases, tools, and applications.Develop and manage relationships with underwriters, claims, and finance teams.Provide support for external actuarial reviews and regulatory submissions. Requirements: Nearly or fully qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent) with several years of reserving experience.Experience in the London Market, with knowledge of reserving methodologies across multiple lines of business.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to communicate technical findings effectively to non-actuarial colleagues.Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements, including Solvency II and Lloyd’s reporting.Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
