Year 4 teacher

Interested in starting with a school on a temporary basis but where there is a permanent role for the right person?

Here is what the children have to say:
"We have lots of fun lessons everyday, but all of them are linked to our half term's topic. Sometimes we have practical lessons, such as going outside in maths to complete tasks. We start our great topics with a theme day or cool trip. All the teachers are kind and helpful. our teachers encourage us to be successful by helping us in lessons and sharing our targets with us so we know how to improve. When we have met them, we receive a silver zone. When we have achieved four targets, we are in the golden zone and we are invited to an end of term treat with the Headteacher."

This is an oversubscribed Junior school in the South Essex area. There are 3 classes per year group so there is an opportunity for teachers to do their planning together. The teachers and support staff are passionate about learning, and have the highest of aspirations for all of their pupils.

Academic excellence, together with emotional, physical and cultural development, are the main aims that underpin their commitment to the very best outcomes for every child. The school's commitment is for all children to become responsible, independent learners who are actively engaged in the next steps of their learning and able to use their knowledge and skills in all areas of their life. They promote a safe, respectful and supportive environment to facilitate exciting, challenging learning. Everyone is encouraged to recognise and value their own achievements and those of others. It is their expectation that all individuals will be polite and friendly, with an approachable and respectful attitude.

They provide purposeful learning through contexts that are meaningful to children, related to real life situations whenever possible. A respect for learning is cultivated through a variety of visually pleasing, welcoming and stimulating areas, for both work and play.

We strongly believe that the success of our school depends upon children, parents, carers, staff, governors and members of the local and wider communities working effectively together, sharing interests, skills and knowledge.
