About the School

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a 'Good' rated school in the heart of Marple, Stockport. This is a full-time Year 3 position commencing April 2024 until the end of the academic year with the potential to stay on, depending on movement in the school. The role will pay a salary of up to £200 per day and offers a supportive environment in which to thrive!

About the Role

As the Year 3 teacher, you will be responsible for a mixed-ability class of approximately 30 children. With the school being two-form entry, you will benefit from a planning partner, and teaching assistant support to assist with best practice in the classroom. There are a number of SEND children in the class, with some of whom are on EHCPs, but all have clear structured targets which will continue to be supported and reviewed.

To be successful in this role as a Year 3 teacher, you will be required to:

  • Undertake full class teaching responsibilities for a Year 3 class
  • Teach a balanced curriculum that aligns with National Curriculum standards and have a strong understand of age-related expectations to both scaffold, stretch and accurately pitch learning
  • Build a positive rapport with all pupils based on trust and mutual respect and build a community where children take ownership and accountability for their learning
  • Support SEND pupils to stretch and scaffold learning and monitor and review their progress in relation to EHCP targets
  • Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils, as well as continually monitor personal, social and emotional wellbeing
  • Be an effective team player and liaise with colleagues to share advice, resources and best practice
