Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Northfield, Birmingham

As a Year 2 Classroom Teaching Assistant you would support the class teacher in planning, resource management, behaviour management, and assessment. You'd be required to provide one-to-one or small group assistance, promote inclusive education, and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment. Communication with parents, student supervision, and administrative tasks are also part of their responsibilities.

For this role you'd require:

GCSEs: Typically, a good standard of GCSEs (or equivalent) in subjects like English and Mathematics is preferred.

Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualifications: Although not always compulsory, holding a relevant qualification like a Level 2 or 3 Certificate or Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools can be beneficial.

Experience: Practical experience, especially in an educational setting, is highly valued. Volunteering or work experience in schools can be advantageous.

Safeguarding Training: Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection is crucial for working with children. (This can be provided where needed)

DBS Check: A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is mandatory to ensure you don't have any criminal convictions that would disqualify you from working with children.
