Yard Manager

Our client, a construction support business specialising in providing hardwood timber access mats for both sale and hire throughout the UK, are seeking a Yard Manager to join them in their Stratford-upon-Avon branch, due to continued growth. The Yard Manager will be responsible for; Running the day-to-day operations of the Yard, driving and operating the Fork Lift Trucks, Loading and offloading articulated vehicles, Sorting and cleaning of hire and used mats, Yard / Stock management, keeping on top of the day-to-day paperwork required for the operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, growing company in a varied role with good long-term prospects.

Yard Manager Position Salary & Benefits

• Salary: £28k - £32k DOE
• Discretionary bonus (paid every year so far, circa 10%)
• Pension Scheme
• 25 days holiday per annum + Bank Holidays
• Full time role Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
• Location: Stratford-upon- Avon (office based)

Yard Manager Position Overview

• Running the day-to-day operations of the Yard
• Driving and operating the Fork Lift Trucks (current license essential)
• Loading and offloading articulated vehicles
• Sorting and cleaning (manual) of hire and used mats
• Yard / Stock management
• Keeping on top of the day-to-day paperwork required for the operations
• Management of staff
• Health & Safety and security of the yard and machinery

Yard Manager Position Requirements

• At least 5 years' experience of Fork Lift Truck operations with current license
• Current forklift licence is essential
• Evidence of previous experience working in a similar role
• Exceptional organisation skills
• Be a good communicator both verbal and written (computers would be an advantage)
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
• Current driving license
