The National Offender Management Services are there to ensure people serve the sentences and orders handed out by courts, both in prisons and in the community. Within England and Wales, NOMS is responsible for the running of prison and probation services, are dedicated to the rehabilitation services for prisoners leaving prison, making sure support is available to stop people offending again and contract managing private sector prisons and services such as the Prisoner Escort Service and electronic tagging.
A large number of exciting temporary opportunities are available, working within the prison service. The current job vacancies are to work within a secure government building escorting contractors and trades scheduled to start as soon as possible. We are currently looking at a two year term at the moment, with the possibility to apply directly for a two year fixed term contract.
Your new role
The job role is for a Contractor Escort to work Monday to Friday for a minimum of 37 hours per week, with an early finish on a Friday. The rates of pay are fixed and start at £8.78 per hour (inclusive of holiday), which will increase to £9.35 per hour (inclusive of holiday) on completion of your 12-week probationary period. There is free car parking available to all successful applicants along with a Hays Pension Scheme, which will become available upon the successful completion of 12 weeks work.
We are seeking to appoint a reliable and trustworthy full-time escort to join our hardworking and friendly team. The job involves checking in contractors and their tools, searching vehicles, searching contractors, supervision of contractors while on site, patrolling perimeter and grounds, searching buildings and routine administrative work.
What you'll need to succeed
A successful applicant does not require any experience as full training is provided, however a military or security background would be beneficial but not necessary. All applicants for this vacancy must be willing to undergo a fully enhanced NOMS security clearance check, which will be fully funded and organised by Hays.
