Quality Assurance Manager/Welding Supervisor circa £40,000 + depending on experience. 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance Manager/Welding Supervisor to join our busy metal fabrication shop in South Shields. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of welding quality and compliance. Here are the key responsibilities:

  1. Welding Activities Point of Contact: Act as the primary liaison for all welding-related matters within the company.

  2. Catalogue Management: Oversee our comprehensive catalogue of weld procedures and maintain accurate records of qualified welders.

  3. Qualification of Weld Procedures: Write and coordinate the qualification process for weld procedures as needed, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

  4. Standards Maintenance: Assist in maintaining ISO3834 and BSEN1090 standards by serving as the company’s assistant Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC).

  5. Dimensional and Visual Inspection: Conduct thorough dimensional and visual inspections of welds to verify their quality and adherence to specifications.

  6. Client and Third-Party Interaction: Collaborate with clients and third-party inspectors to ensure seamless communication and compliance throughout projects.

  7. Documentation Management: Efficiently manage the creation and production of contract documentation packages and Material Review Boards (MRBs).

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant experience in welding quality assurance and supervision.
  • Familiarity with welding standards and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
