Warehouse Supervisor

Our client, a freight forwarding company, based in Purfleet, is looking for a capable Warehouse Supervisor to support their company's freight-forwarding warehouse operations. You will be responsible for organising the efficient, safe storage and shipment of cargo for export. The position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Warehouse Supervisor responsibilities include:

• Organise the warehouse space and have full understanding of what is in the warehouse.
• Receive and organise incoming deliveries items appropriately, sign-off shipping notes and input on the system.
• To ensure every item of cargo within the warehouse is accounted for, labelled and stored within the designated area of the warehouse.
• To effectively manage the process of loading containers for export
• Communicate effectively with office staff so they can provide the necessary updates to customers
• Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimise warehousing procedures
• Abide by all company health and safety regulations
• Keep warehouse clean and organised daily

Skills required from the Warehouse Supervisor:

• Proven warehouse experience
• Ability to operate forklift (Counter-balance), pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
• Must be comfortable using a computer (in-house software training provided)
• Team player with leadership and organisational skills
• Ability to lift or move heavy products

Working hours are Monday to Friday (weekend work available).

In return the Warehouse Supervisor will receive a s alary in the region of £28,000.
