THE BUSINESS

Our Client specialises in the design, development and manufacture of threading inserts, thread mills and special thread forms to their customers in the engineering industry across 5 continents. This is an exciting time to join this engineering business, as it embarks on a period of development that will see the launch of several new product lines and strategic growth within key sectors.

As a result of this, a vacancy has arisen for a permanent full time Stores Person to join the business

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Office Manager, the Stores Person will have the primary function to control all goods in and out of the business. This person will maintain and achieve deadlines for shipping all packages each day to their customers around the world. Some of your duties include:

• You will control all goods in from supplier deliveries and checking these against paperwork
• You will ensure goods are correctly booked in on the computer systems and that stocks are updated daily
• You will correctly package and despatch goods to customers and sub-contractors
• You will need to organise stores racking to ensure goods are safely stored and correctly identified for customer order picking
• You will identify shortages and inform purchasing; checking paperwork for accuracy
• You will assist with the implementation of a new bar-coding system
• You will continually check and update stocks in a fast moving environment
• You will ensure the general tidiness of the workplace in order to make sure that quality; health and safety standards are always maintained
• You will work to required quality standards and procedures
• You will support training and continuous improvements within the business
• You will work in a safe manner, driving positive behaviour and leading by example regarding the company’s health and safety requirements
• You will carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected

THE PERSON

The successful person candidate will be an experienced individual with good work ethic, punctuality and ability to operate computer systems. A true team player.

Applicants should be highly motivated with good communication skills and be able to work independently, or as part of a team.

You will work with minimum supervision and former experience working in a similar role is advantageous; however, you will be given training to develop further skills.

• You must be physically fit as there are warehouse duties including heavy lifting
• You must have a “can do” attitude, be open to progression and be a team player
• You will have a strong level of verbal and written communication skills
• You must display a calm demeanour and be able to work under pressure
• You must demonstrate the ability to organise, prioritise your work and problem solve
• You will have a sound understanding of Microsoft packages
• You will have the ability to complete basic paperwork
• You will demonstrate a good eye for detail and be quick to learn new tasks
