Warehouse Operative - Hazardous Goods

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative, with Hazardous goods experience, to join our team. The role involves handling high activity sources using a remote handling cell, maintaining an accurate inventory of all sources, servicing radiography projectors and other NDT equipment, as well as ensuring the warehouse is kept clean, tidy, and well-organised.

• Operate the remote handling cell to load and unload high activity sources.
• Record all receipts and dispatches of sources accurately.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of all sources, including their locations within the building.
• Ensure packages for dispatch are correctly labelled in accordance with transport regulations.
• Collect and deliver goods, supporting UK collections and deliveries organisation.
• Service projectors and radiography customer equipment at our site and customer locations.
• Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and organised.
• Complete scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Understand the Sentinel range of projectors and equipment, including loading and maintenance.
• Understand the safety and security aspects of handling and transporting high activity sources.
• Perform weekly checks on personal electronic dosimeters and radiation protection equipment.
• Conduct daily start-up and close down of the warehouse.
• Assist in the return of sources to the original manufacturer.
• Support the Transport supervisor with imports and exports.

• Experience with electronic inventory control and dispatch systems.
• Experience within in Warehouse environment 
• Ability to work accurately and methodically in a highly regulated environment.
• Familiarity with transport regulations relating to radioactive material.
• Understanding of the air transport of radioactive material.
• Electrical and mechanical experience is essential.
