Due to company growth we are seeking a Warehouse and Stock Operative to join our busy and friendly team at Alton working as part of the wider Stores and Assembly department. You will be working as part of a team of 3. We are a leading design and manufacturing company that can offer job stability and security. We also offer Mon to Fri working hours 8am-4.45pm Monday to Thursday & 8am–4pm on Fridays, onsite free parking, 25 days holiday plus excellent benefits including contributory pension, healthcare incentives and sick pay.

The main duties of the Warehouse and Stock Operative is to be responsible for the operation of a section within the Warehouse function to support the Supply Chain function with the day-to-day operation of an efficient warehouse. You will assist with both warehouse goods in and despatch along with the preparation and kitting of parts ready to be sent to the manufacturing teams for production. Coordination of your own workload required to provide the required support to the manufacturing and sales teams whilst fostering a culture of working safely. The role would suit candidates who have gained some stock, stores, warehouse or similar experience and are now looking to join a company who value their staff, can offer career development and a modern working environment.

Responsibilities
- Checking and booking in deliveries.
- Kitting parts to multiple production lines.
- Maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Following FIFO process for component & finished goods.
- Packing and dispatching customer orders.
- Liaise with sales function and logistics companies, as required in a timely manner.
- Resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse, escalating as required.
- Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment.
- Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules.
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency.
- Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods.
- Identify any warehouse system improvements, making positive recommendations for change.

To be successful as our Warehouse Operative you should have the following skills and experience:-
- Experience working within a warehouse environment.
- Ideally Knowledge of Goods In/Despatch/Stock Picking procedures.
- Be PC literate with Microsoft packages.

- We can train or re fresh on the Fork Lift with any previous experience being useful.
