Job Purpose:

the purpose of this role is to deliver high quality, supportive and engaging qualifications to candidates enrolled onto funded programmes.

The position holder will engage and support a caseload of up to 50 learners to achieve qualifications in a timely manner by providing meaningful teaching/learning and assessment sessions, conducting regular formal progress reviews and following the delivery guideline.

The position holder will be delivering Functional Skills as part of the overall apprenticeship framework within agreed timeline and will have good understanding/experience in conducting initial assessments, embedding Functional Skills, British Values and elements of safeguarding and equality and diversity into teaching sessions and conducting final exams/tests.

The position holder is expected to take full responsibility for own caseload, engage and retain learners, and meet performance targets as set by the line manager.

Dimensions:

a) To engage meaningfully with learners every 4-6 weeks on a 1:1 model

b) To teach monthly study days to your designated groups (these can be Saturdays)

c) Ensure Prevista’s timely success rate in achievements is a minimum of 97% for all learners

d) Ensure all delivery meets Prevista’s and funder’s quality and audit requirements

e) To maintain paperwork and/or online enrolment error rate of less than 5%

f) Observation of Teaching, Learning and Assessment grade of 2 or above

Principal Accountabilities:

a) Demonstrate competence through qualifications and experience across the full suite of qualifications to be delivered.

b) Manage own caseload effectively using e-portfolio to progress learners effectively from start to timely completion.

c) Respond to learner and employer queries in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring regular contact is maintained for the full duration of the learner journey and qualification.

d) Where not provided, carry out a thorough induction and robust initial assessment, establishing the correct level and qualification a learner should be taking.

e) Ensure the Individual Learning Plan is maintained and updated regularly.

f) Follow TAQA and QCF code of practice to ensure a quality learner journey is made available to all learners.

g) Follow guidance with regards to teaching and assessment practice and the completion of paperwork, ensuring relevant documentation is used. Respond to feedback in a timely and professional manner.

h) Whenever there is an opportunity, prioritise and use of technology to teach learners - online tools, interactive sessions, webinars, remote learning.

i) Ensure that anyone else involved in the assessment process gives their consent, especially where this may mean intrusion into areas of privacy and confidentiality.

j) Attend regular standardisation/team meetings to ensure consistency with other assessors and Internal Verifiers.

k) Undertake regular professional development activities as agreed by the Team Leader

l) Follow and act on any guidance given by the Team Leader

m) Update the Team Manager on a weekly basis with individual learner’s progress.

n) Ensure that the learner is fully aware of current legislation relating to them and their assessment; maintain compliance with 'Safe learner’ requirements.

o) Undertake any other duties as and when required

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

a) 2-year minimum experience of Apprenticeship and Functional Skills led training programmes - desirable

b) Relevant QCF Assessor and Verifier qualifications - e.g., D32/A1 Assessor - desirable

c) D34/V1 Internal Verifiers/Internal Quality Assurer - desirable

d) Hold/Working towards an IAG qualification - desirable

e) Experience of using e-portfolios and good IT skills - desirable

f) Good organisational skills - essential

g) Managing day to day relationship with learners - essential

h) Provide Weekly/monthly reports as required for timely completion of learners - essential

i) Co-coordinating the recruitment of learners with Business Relationship Managers and other employer engagement functions in the business - essential
