Help Improve Practice in a Child Protection Service

A London based Local Authority which is well on its way to improving its performance is seeking an experienced Social Worker within their Child Protection service.

  • Help improve levels of practice
  • Authority is on a robust improvement plan
  • 3 Managers brought in to help improve practice and streamline processes
  • Focus around less bureaucracy and more direct Social Work
  • Caseloads in the region of around 20 children, with Avg 2 cases going through courts
  • Long term contracts offered and opportunities to go permanent

The Local Authority has made significant progress in improving its levels of practice and quality of service for their service users and they are looking to consolidate these changes by bringing in quality Social Workers. Thus far average caseloads have been reduced with staff holding even less cases that are currently going through the Courts. With more specialist managers being drafted in processes have been changed to reduce the paperwork and free up staff to focus on children and their families.

The authority are keen to bring in candidates who are motivated and are able to contribute to the further development of the service and help bring their ideas to the management teams as to how to further develop front line services. There is also more support available for staff who have protected weekly supervision and are able to access senior members of team for any informal supervision.

To be considered for this post you should have extensive Child Protection experience and be familiar with practice improvement.
