Introduction

A nice opportunity has arisen to join a friendly Treaty Reinsurance Team of a highly respected Independent Wholesale Insurance Broker, as a Reinsurance Technician.

This is a full time role, initially working three days in the office (London or Cheltenham, depending on your preference) and two days at home, with more flexibility following the successful completion of the probation period.

Responsibilities

Working in collaboration with the treaty reinsurance broking team, your primary focus will be on the creation of reinsurance documentation for the London and international reinsurance markets including Market Reform Slips, Endorsements and Presentations / Market Submissions to support renewal and new business opportunities.

You will have responsibility for your own renewal lists, and will be in a position to manage the process to completion.

There is no processing requirement in this role.

Your Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications

  • Current market practice
  • A high degree of accuracy is required in this technical role
  • Ability to manage workflows is essential
  • Strong working knowledge / experience in proportional and non-proportional Property & Casualty Treaties, with some level of Accident & Health Treaty experience an advantage
  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred, as business emanates from LATAM, as well as English speaking Caribbean and India.
  • Pro-active, as you will be managing and prioritising renewal lists
  • Ability to work independently and enjoy working within a team
  • Ability to interpret data, including claims, and other underwriting information for the purposes of slip and market submission production
  • Working knowledge of Crystal, to understand how to apply taxes
  • Good working knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), Crystal, Lloyd's Wording Repository and Total Objects (GXB) would be an advantage.
  • Progress toward CII, a good standard of education, especially in English & Math

Working pattern

Three days in the office (London or Cheltenham), two days at home, leading to more flexible working conditions following probation.
