A unique Travel Consultant opportunity has arisen for a bespoke Travel Company, who focus on personalised service and have repeat clientele that trust this team of Travel Agents with all their travel requirements. Offering a highly competitive salary of £28k pa plus commission, this is a remote role, that offers flexibility, although regular team meet ups in Edinburgh means this would suit an experienced Travel Consultant based in Scotland. Selling a variety of tour operators, from city breaks through to tailored itineraries, from European to long-haul, this will suit you if you are a travel consultant with solid industry experience, great worldwide destination knowledge and ability to work pro-actively and effectively from home. You will be an integral part of a small, successful and growing team, so whilst a travel consultant role at heart, there is a real opportunity to bring your skills to the business operations and make an impact!

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Liaising with direct clients, this is all about using your knowledge and personality to offer a personalised service from start to finish, giving care & attention and treating each holiday as a privilege to be involved in and create
  • Accessing a wide range of Tour Operators in order to create the right itineraries for your clients, this may be a short-haul holiday, a city break through to a cruise, a long-haul beach break or a tailor-made trip
  • Working flexibly from home, you will be able to cover evenings and weekends, to work around your clients and ensure that exceptional personal service, but flexibility back is offered. Need to do the school run? No problem? Have other commitments that need working around? All good!
  • Creating and booking holidays, offering ancillaries, adding personal touches, ensuring all goes smoothly through to the clients returning home.
  • Getting to know the customers, understanding their needs and making suggestions for future trips

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

You will have solid previous experience of working within a travel agency, selling a variety of Tour Operators. Whilst they cater for a wide variety of holiday requests they are keen for someone to join them with solid short-haul knowledge. You have already experienced working from home, so that you know you can be self-sufficient and pro-active, home working doesn't work for everyone, so this will be something you have already done. You will be great at building relationships and be someone who likes to bring their ideas and additional skills to help impact the business in a positive way. You will become an integral part of the work family as the company knows, so this kind of collaborative approach will appeal.

Personable and positive, you will have the attitude that you will 'make things happen'. You'll have to wear many hats and be able to adapt to a fast paced environment, where every day brings new challenges and rewards! Salesy is not their style; you'll be a great listener with knowledge and passion for travel and your enthusiasm and ability to get it right for your client, will mean the want to buy from you time and again.
