Transport Planner 

Mid Kent

£28k - £32k DOE 

9am - 7pm Monday - Friday 

1 in 5 Saturday cover - 7am - 12pm 

My client is looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful, leading company, working in a busy and fast paced environment. Duties include:

• Operating vehicles ensuring optimisation of revenue whilst taking into account customer requirements and legal restrictions on driver hours and other relevant legislation

• Maintain TMS to ensure all details entered are accurate and completed in full 

• Maintain good working relationships with customers and keeping a consistent flow of communication 

• Accurate recording of delivery failures and rebooks, ensuring all appropriate additional revenues are captured and reported to relevant people

• Production of accurate reports and KPI's

• Following compliance processes relating to vehicle and trailer maintenance 

• Chasing and adjusting customer deliveries whenever necessary

• Liaising with internal and external customers to plan their deliveries in accordance, whilst ensuring the vehicles are maximised 

• Driver briefs and debriefs

• Proactively work to reduce late deliveries and missed time slots 

• Ability to work quickly and multitask is essential 

• Awareness of all transport regulations to adhere to Operational compliance levels with regards to driver tachograph and vehicle servicing requirements 

• Ensure agency drivers are fully inducted before engaging on to work 

• Providing support to colleagues and management where appropriate 

• Creation of management information and reports 

• To ensure that all assets are fully in service and MOT before being released for work
