Transport Planner

• Job Type: Full-time
• Salary: £33-£37k (depending on experience)
• Hour: 45 hours per week between 7am-6pm. On-call/weekend cover on a rota basis.

We are seeking a Transport Planner to join our clients logistics team at their head office site. This role is ideal for someone with experience in transport planning within a logistics environment, who thrives under pressure and has a “where there’s a will, there’s a way” attitude. You will be responsible for planning a fleet of 20 vehicles, ensuring high-quality service and efficient scheduling.

• Report to the Operations Manager.
• Utilise transport management software to schedule vehicles effectively and efficiently, achieving the optimum transport plan.
• Ensure customer service criteria are met consistently.
• Communicate the plan clearly to all necessary parties and maintain regular contact with both internal and external customers.
• Liaise closely with the Warehouse and Cargo team to achieve the most effective plan.

• Experience in or alongside a Transport Planning Team.
• Background in a logistics working environment.
• Ability to work under pressure in a time-critical environment.
• Strong communication skills at all levels with both internal and external customers.
• Analytical skills and computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and flexible approach.
• Experience in the shipping industry and VBS system is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of TMS systems and warehouse management systems is beneficial, although full training will be provided.
