We are working with a market leading recycling business at their vital Nottingham operation. They have a culture of always striving to be best in class whilst empowering people to improve both themselves and the way the operation works.
The Role - Transport Planner
If you prefer every day to be different, and like working with a business which rewards its employees with great on-site facilities, then this could be the role for you. Working as part of a small, motivated team of 4 in the planning department and reporting directly to the Transport Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning routes from the Nottingham recycling site on a daily basis.
- Adapting routes to changes throughout the day.
- Always looking for efficiencies and improvements.
- Liaising with the customer, the drivers, and the operational team.
- Working under deadline pressure.
- Been the main point of contact for customers on the day of delivery and retrieval.
Working hours
Monday to Friday.
Rotating shift 06:00 - 16:00 / 08:00 - 18:00 / 14:00 - 00:00
The Skills Required
The ideal candidate for the Transport Planner role will have performed already in a similar role within logistics. They will also have skills and experiences clearly demonstrated in their CV in the following:
- Experience within an aggregates, recycling or construction transport is ideal.
- 2 years + transport planning experience
- Outstanding customer service skills, a great communicator over the phone
- An analytical approach to work
- MS Excel proficient user
- Ability to be calm under pressure.
- Highly proficient computer skills
- A very customer facing approach.
- A fantastic phone manor. Both enthusiastic and clear when speaking with all parties.
- Outstanding geographic knowledge of the East Midlands transport network.
