Transport Planner Team Leader
CantelloTayler Recruitment are currently recruiting a Transport Planner Team Leader to join our client based in Egham.
This role will work with the department management team to ensure the transport operation is fit for business operations now and in the future and is efficient and cost effective. The role will be responsible for managing team rotas and all conversations with drivers from route feedback through to annual appraisals.
This role is on rotating shift pattern every 2 weeks:
- Week 1: 6am - 2pm
- Week 2: 2pm - 10pm
The successful Transport Planner Team Leader will be responsible for:
- Effectively plan the depot fleet and it’s team to ensure maximum levels of utilisation at any time
- Support the Fleet Compliance Team Leader to ensure the department and depot are compliant in all areas
- Create and communicate driver rotas on a daily and weekly basis.
- Communication with drivers and customers.
- Provide the team with expert knowledge.
- Provide solutions to operational challenges, taking ownership of problems.
- Create and maintain a positive, safe, and productive working environment
- Work with the other Transport Team Leaders to continually review operational improvements.
The Transport Planner Team Leader will have:
- Ability to work in a fast paced, pressured environment.
- Proven people management skills with the ability to develop others.
- Experience of working in a compliance led role such as Health & Safety and Transport Legislation.
- Ability to plan rotas and resource to deliver operational requirements to a timely manner whilst meeting agreed KPI’s and Service Levels
- Effective team worker and confident and positive communicator
- PC literate in Excel and Word and WMS experience
