Pyramid8 are delighted to be working alongside one of our well-established clients. Our client was established in 2009 and re-located to their new custom-built premises in 2021. Our client is a market leader in the field of remarketing and disposal.

Due to head count increase our client is now looking to recruit a full time Transport Coordinator to work full time Monday to Friday 9am-17.30pm.

As a Transport Coordinator you will work closely with our clients customers to ensure their vehicles are collected in a timely and efficient manner. As you will be representing our clients business it is imperative that you maintain high standards.

Overall responsibilities

  • As a Transport Coordinator you will be responsible for managing the transportation of inbound and outbound transportation and logistics movements nationwide across a very broad spectrum of vehicles.
  • Liaising with Subcontractors to ensure that all service levels are maintained, be proactive in approach to booking and reviewing costs and options on a regular basis.
  • Outbound contact with customers ensuring that that all relevant questions have been successfully answered and the most appropriate method of transport is arranged. This includes dealing with scenarios some of which may be of a sensitive nature.
  • Ensuring that all collection and delivery paperwork and vehicle documentation are requested, received, recorded and signed for at the time of collection.
  • Ensure that all external parties are clear on expectations with regards to conduct and ensure that all vehicles are to be driven with due care & attention and within the relevant speed limits in accordance with the law.

Main Duties

  • Reviewing and allocating, scheduling jobs to maximise operational and logistical performance. Liaising with customers over the phone to arrange collections.
  • Dealing with any complaints that may arise
  • Liaising with collection & delivery contractors
  • Responding to emails
  • Responding to telephone calls in a timely and efficient manner
  • Providing a friendly & supportive service to all customers
  • Ability to prioritise workloads in line with business requirements.

The Candidate:

  • Previous experience of working within transport or logistics is preferred
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Sound administration skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Good knowledge of manufacturers makes and models of vehicles including dimensions for loading is preferred
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Ability to prioritise workloads in line with our clients business requirements
  • Excellent Customer service levels
  • Keen eye for detail
