Training & Development Officer - Management level 5

Location: London

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 + Southern Weighting (up to £4,000)

The Role:

To advise, teach, guide and support learners to achieve their chosen qualification on time and with a high level of quality, including liaising with Large Employers.

Main Duties:

  • Effectively managing a caseload of learners through their apprenticeship programme and enable them to achieve all aspects of their apprenticeship including End Point Assessment. Particular responsibility for your specialism of delivery
  • Ensuring successful and timely achievement with learners of their programme through a range of engaging effective teaching and learning activities supported by regular information, advice and guidance and progress monitoring.
  • Developing and maintaining effective customer relationships with learners and employers.

  • Organisational skills - the ability to work remotely and autonomously in an organised manner using effective diary management
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude - successfully adapts to changing demands and conditions
  • Facilitation of teaching and training
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Personal commitment to improving your own knowledge and skills through ongoing CPD associated with teaching, learning and assessment
  • Good administration skills
  • IT skills - demonstrates good use of internal databases, Microsoft packages and e-assessment tools
  • Commitment - is single minded in achieving personal goals, and shows determination and tenacity in meeting challenges with a strong commitment to high standards
  • Time Management - organises and schedules events, activities and resources in a timely manner, and sets, monitors and work to meet timescales
  • Knowledge of both Framework and Standards
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding including Prevent and British Values
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and funding rules applied by the Skills Funding Agency and Awarding Organisations
  • Be able to develop and deliver bespoke learner induction programmes


  • Assessment Qualification (TAQA/A1/D32/33)
  • Level 4 or above Teaching Qualification (CTTLS, PGCE, Cert.ed or equivalent)
  • Level 5 or above qualification in Management
  • Level 2 qualification in English & Mathematics
  • Minimum 5 years occupational/vocational experience in a Managerial position
  • Minimum 3 years experience delivering high level qualifications to learners


  • Level 4 or above qualification in Project Management
  • Quality Assurance Qualification (TAQA L4, V1, D34)
