trainee air import clerk

Right Now Group are currently recruiting for a trainee Air Import Clerk to join our client who are a well established, multi branch freight forwarder in the UK at their main HQ in Chertsey.

As the trainee Air Import Clerk, your role involves supporting the Air Import operations team in managing the transportation of goods via air freight.

Duties and responsibilities of a Trainee Air Import Clerk:

• Dealing with Air Import consignments from start to finish.
• Will be mainly working on a few specific key accounts but will also be expected to assist with other general Air and Road freight shipments.
• Provide assistance and support to customers, including responding to inquiries, providing shipments updates and addressing any concerns or issues related to the import process.
• assist in the preparation of billing invoices, verify charges and ensure accurate billing information for import services provided to customers.
• assist in the customs clearance process by providing accurate information, verifying compliance with import regulations.
• correspond with airlines, customs officials, freight forwarders and other parties involved in the import process to coordinate shipments.

The Successful Junior Trainee Air Import Clerk:

• The client are ideally looking for someone with an element of freight experience in some kind of capacity. It would be beneficial if the candidate has knowledge of Import Processes.
• The client are also open to taking on candidates that are new to the industry but must possess a "can do" attitude and be mouldable.
• Ability to work within a team and independantly
• Must have exceptional attention to detaila and organisation skills.

Additional infomation for the Trainee Air Import Clerk Role:

Shift: Monday - Friday

Hours: 09:00 - 17:30

Salary: £22,500 - £26,000 depending on experience
