As a Trade Mark Attorney, you will play a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing the value of clients’ brands and intellectual property. You will be directly involved in a wide range of activities, from advising on availability searches and watch notifications to handling trade mark prosecutions, contentious work, and domain name disputes. This role is integral to the firm's success and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting and advising on trade mark availability searches and watch notifications
- Managing a portfolio of trade mark cases, including prosecution work, oppositions, and cancellations
- Handling domain name disputes and Company Names Tribunal matters
- Undertaking legal research and online investigations to support cases
- Writing and preparing articles on newsworthy legal developments in the field of trademarks and intellectual property
- Participating in business development activities to grow the firm’s clientele and maintain its reputation as a leader in the IP sector
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 1-5 years’ PQE as a Trade Mark Attorney, ideally within a respected IP firm or in-house team
- A proven track record in trade mark prosecution and contentious work
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of advising and liaising effectively with clients
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a keen interest in contributing to the firm’s business development efforts
- A collaborative team player with a proactive and positive approach to challenges
