Tool Setter / Machine Setter

Job Title: Tool Setter

Overall Job Purpose:

To play a key role working to ensure the safe and efficient running of machines to the required quality standards and continuous improving the manufacturing process

Responsible to:

  • Production Manger
  • QA Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Tool changing and Setting of Injection Moulding Machines

  • To assist with ensuring that all 35 machines are running to the required standard by troubleshooting production issues

  • Perform basic machine maintenance

  • Keeping the workplace clean and tidy

  • Assisting in the training of machine operators

  • Identifying opportunities for production improvements

  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by the company

  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations at all times and report any causes for concern

Personal Qualities and Qualifications

Personal Specifications:

  • Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge desired

  • Previous experience working with injection moulding machines (Preferably BOY, Krauss Maffei and Arburg Machines)

  • Knowledge of Moulding machines and Tooling

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Open to taking direction

Qualifications and Certification:

  • Mechanical Maintenance or Manufacturing Engineering qualification a distinct advantage.

  • In the absence of professional qualifications previous experience will be considered

Additional Information

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (Full Time)

Location: Exeter

Remuneration: £25,000 Per annum + Christmas Performance Bonus

(at managers discretion)

Probation: 3 months probationary period
