Tendering Engineer
Job Overview
Using industry experience and knowledge to provide detailed estimates for Client Projects, including cost estimates, work time estimates, and overall customer satisfaction. Maintains existing Client Contracts and continuously seeks out new clients and estimating opportunities.
Main Duties
Prepare cost budgets and cost estimates for new contracts.
Experience in Building Cost Estimates from 33kV - 132kV.
Experience & Understanding of UK DNO's requirements (G81) for Contestable Works.
Knowledge of BOP works associated with Battery Storage Projects (Advantageous but not essential)
Ensure consistency across all project estimating and pricing, including making amendments, providing new cost estimates, and maintaining communication with the Client.
Adhere to company standards and guidelines when analysing and providing estimations; focus on maximising profit and customer satisfaction, while minimising any potential risks to the company.
Prepare detailed, well-written proposals for each Client, adhering to Client guidelines while offering competitive and comprehensive cost estimates, and including supplementary documentation.
Maintain relationships with existing Clients keeping a sales-minded attitude and seek out and build relationships with new Clients.
Work with the Tendering Manager and Design Team to help with development, innovation, and creativity on Client projects.
Keep detailed records of all estimation documentation, including site assessments and contract terms.
Balance multiple proposals and estimations at once, ensuring each reaches the Client by the deadline.
Liaise with other company departments to maintain business development and continuously innovate new profitable outcomes.
Occasional Site Visit / Client Visits will be required.
What we are looking for
5+ years experience working within a fast moving dynamic engineering company
HNC / HND qualification or suitable industry experience
Excellent commercial awareness
Strong customer facing skills with sales and customer service
Ability to manage workload in a timely manner
Valid Driving License
Computer literate with experience of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook & Estimation software (Simpro) advantageous
