Technical Sales Engineer

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is assisting our global engineering solutions client to recruit a Field Sales Engineer for the Norwich, Sussex and Kent regions.  Being the world’s no.1 supplier of cutting tools and tooling systems, this is an exciting opportunity to join our team.

As a Field Sales Engineer, you will develop the sales and profitability within your area in conjunction with the regional sales manager. This will be achieved by utilising all sales channels (direct, distribution, integration).

The Field Sales Engineer will be responsible for:-

• Driving continuous improvement activities with customers and to effectively operate all sales channels
• Improve existing methods and procedures and develop new machining techniques and cutting strategies
• Maintain and strengthen business relations with customers and channel partners
• Implement local sales and industry segment development strategies in conjunction with the RSM and BDM
• Promote the Walter Service Offer through identification of sales opportunities.

To apply for this Field Sales Engineer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

• A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and proven sales experience in the metal cutting industry
• A thorough knowledge of the application of cutting tools and ideally experience working with 5-axis machine centres
• An awareness of the value selling concept and a sound knowledge and competence in the field of machining technology.  
• Qualified HNC or HND in production / mechanical engineering
