This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Operations Manager to support the CEO in a growing naturally derived skincare company.

You will become involved in all aspects of the business and manage the wholesale business including overseeing R&D, production, finished product (including quality control), warehouse stock, customer orders and customer service. The role involves making sure the operation runs smoothly.

The company supplies ready made wholesale cosmetic products for white labelling and also provides cosmetic safety assessments for those that want to develop and sell their own skincare products.

The role will include supporting customers with ever-changing legislation and to provide technical knowledge for a progressive company which specialises in Own Label product development.

You will be overseeing the R&D and production areas of the company with your eyes firmly set on quality control, finished product, wholesale and Customer service.

The role is predominantly office based. Full driving licence and own transport is essential.

With responsibility for the project management of R&D work for naturally derived skincare. You will also be able to provide technical input to product development and will manage the whole operation from start to finish.

The role will include:

  • Managing all staff including implementing and monitoring KPI’s.
  • Provision of technical support to customers throughout the lifecycle of the products.
  • Account management on technical aspects of formulations.
  • Preparation and presentation of technical documents - must have knowledge of C of A and MSDS etc.
  • Management of end to end manufacturing, on site.
  • Complaint management and problem solving.
  • Regulatory work to ensure product compliance with legislation.
  • Education of the products.
  • Development of strong & supportive relationships with the customers/retailers etc.
  • The ability to write formulation breakdowns, specifications and methods of manufacture for new formulations.
  • Understanding about reformulating existing formulations to address stability and regulatory issues, ensuring products meet quality and compliance standards.
  • Leading and mentoring others with the ability to foster an effective, collaborative and positive team culture.
  • Ability to prioritise and delegate tasks to other members of the team.

You will have:

  • A scientific degree (cosmetic, fragrance or pharmaceutical science) or in a fundamental science (chemistry, biology or biochemistry)
  • Experience in formulation development or product development of naturally derived skincare.
  • Experience of overseeing production and R&D.
  • Knowledge of packaging types
  • Experience in scale-up, manufacturing and stability
