Working with a well know retail and ecommerce Brand across two separate squads on Loyalty and In-store experience.

Technologies preferred but not essential as not a hands on role: Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, IOS, Android and Sap Hybris - Would be a big benefit

The Job:

The Technical Lead's of a Product Team are responsible for the technical direction of the product, including the scalability & reliability of the systems built & owned. They provide guidance to the development team, make architectural decisions within the product, and ensure the scalability & maintainability of the product.

The Technical Lead (TL) of a Product Team provides guidance to the development team, makes architectural decisions within the product, and ensures the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the product, including systems built and owned.

The TL works in partnership with the Product Manager (PM) to lead a healthy, high functioning team that can deliver at pace. They help the PM understand the technical complexity of potential improvements to the product, allowing crude estimates to be product which aid capacity planning within the team. They are considered a senior engineer capable of mentoring more junior members and some who can collaborate closely with architects.

About You:

You are joint leader of one Product Team with the Product Manager. This is a responsibly that you take seriously and will require you to balance individual contributions to the product's success, with leading others in the team. You will pair with the PM to set goals, and then share communications with the wider organization about progress towards those goals.

You will represent the team in technical conversations relating to architecture and engineering choices - this will take various forms, but means you will be pulled into discussion often with the PM to quickly assess possibilities of ideas (ranging from planning within your team, to meetings with stakeholders etc...)

They know the difference between teaching and coaching, and are able to flex between the two as the situation demands. They believe in pairing and are happy to demonstrate as when it is possible.
