We are delighted to be working with a leading independent specialty insurance business in the London Market as they look to recruit for a Technical Claims Director.

The key purpose of the role is to provide a quality claims service to all Energy clients, as well as undertaking an advisory and servicing role to internal customers.

Hybrid working is on offer with this role, with excellent flexibility options for working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Management and control of complex Energy, Power and Renewable Claims.
• Communicating regularly with clients to understand and meet their business requirements.
• Personally providing outstanding service and technical advice, expediting and negotiating the best claims settlements.
• Contributing to business development with recommendations during marketing and renewal meetings.
• Developing and fostering relationships with clients to attract new business and retain existing clients.
• Working closely with the Head of Claims to develop a strong and realistic business plan.
• Helping to provide technical leadership, guidance and training to the team, particularly junior members of staff.
• Participating in regular Energy Claims leadership meetings and individual team meets as needed.
• Acting as focal point for market intelligence.

Key Requirements

• Significant experience of handling complex Energy Claims within a broker, insurer or loss adjuster, or direct industry experience.
• Strong University education in Business, Law, Economics, or Engineering.
• Good business acumen and technical credibility.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
