We are in search of a profoundly dedicated teaching assistant focused on fostering learning and promoting positive conduct among children. This is an Ad-hoc full-time role (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM) dedicated to supporting children in a mainstream primary school located in the YO62 area. We also have part time roles available.

This school seeks individuals with vision, dedication, and a constructive perspective, demonstrating their commitment to achieving optimal results for every child. The school aspires to establish a secure, imaginative, and motivating learning setting where each child cultivates a sincere passion for learning and a curious spirit. They prioritise personal and social growth in addition to academic advancement, fostering children self-perception as unique individuals who embrace diversity and evolve into responsible global citizens through the provision of guidance and support.

Requirements:

  • The ability to assess learning requirements and proactively explore innovative teaching approaches.
  • Readiness and capability to adjust to changing situations.
  • Capacity to offer individualised attention, reassurance, and assistance with learning activities.
  • Strong comprehension of child development and the learning process.
  • Possession of an updated Enhanced DBS check on the update service or readiness to obtain a new one.
  • Proficiency in the national Key Stage Curriculum.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the implementation of individualised educational plans tailored to meet each child's learning goals.
  • Establish rapport with all children, adjusting communication to suit their comprehension levels.
  • Advocate for an inclusive and diverse learning atmosphere, ensuring equitable opportunities for every child.
  • Promote independence through a variety of activities and assignments.
  • Aid in presenting children work and participate in the preparation of educational resources.
  • Provide support in hands-on activities, employing a range of teaching aids.
  • Cultivate positive conduct and empower children to take responsibility for their actions.
  • Assist in overseeing children in the absence of the class teacher, working alongside other support staff.
