Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be working with pupils with additional needs in SEN/SEMH schools. This role is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who require additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behavioural needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and therapists to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to each student’s education.
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role dealing with SEMH needs or challenging behavioural needs is essential.
  • Experience in care homes, police, army, or similar roles would be considered an asset.
  • A strong understanding of the unique challenges and rewards of working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
