Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire

Start Date: Immediately

Duration: Long-term, with potential for temp to perm for the right candidate

We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work within Pupil Referral Units and Alternative Provisions across Hampshire. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students who require additional assistance due to various challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Assist students with their academic work, ensuring they understand tasks and concepts.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Support students in developing social and emotional skills, promoting positive behavior and communication.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create individualised learning plans for students.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as necessary.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures at all times, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent are advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of young people.
  • Strong organsational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
