This is a new and unique role reporting into a dynamic, driven Financial Controller where you will act as the go to specialist for all tax related queries for the company. There are currently no reporting lines into this position currently, so it’s important that you are keen to advise the business and work hands on in terms of completing the submission of corporation and VAT tax returns on time.

Pirelli are searching for a real tax expert, who has in-depth knowledge of UK tax and HMRC and who is able to interpret and understand requirements and then advise the business on the appropriate operational activities accordingly.


You'll be at the forefront of ensuring compliance with both Pirelli’s Group and Local tax policies while serving as the go-to expert for all tax-related inquiries within the business. From implementing and maintaining the principles and guidelines of the Group Tax policy to managing intricate tax filings, including income tax, VAT returns, and compliance with specific tax regimes, you will ensure the adherence to regulatory requirements.

You will develop and nurture crucial relationships with HMRC and other tax specialists, actively managing Pirelli's tax risk profile while overseeing comprehensive tax risk registers. Beyond compliance, the role encompasses accurate accounting for income and deferred tax provisions, preparation of analyses for group and statutory reporting, and forecasting prospective tax liabilities.


You will collaborate closely with the Group Tax department and other key stakeholders to navigate international tax analysis and identify opportunities for tax savings and support strategic business initiatives.

Is this role for you?

Do you hold a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or ACA qualification? Do you have previous experience in UK tax advisory within a large corporate environment?

If you hold one or both of these qualifications and have strong technical accounting and excel skills as well as up-to-date knowledge of tax issues and changes, we want to hear from you!

Ideally you will currently (or have previously) hold a similar position in a global organisation or worked for one of the Big 4 /large accounting practices supporting large clients at management level.

This role will involve interaction with the Head office in Milan too, so the successful candidate will need to be highly adaptable and have excellent communication skills, able to convey UK legal requirements to others within the wider Group.
