Systems Accountant

Systems Accountant | 12 Months FTC | £45,000 - £50,000 | London | Hybrid

For a renowned international human rights charity, we're recruiting a Project Systems Accountant on a 12-month FTC. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will drive system change projects including improvements to the finance system and reporting, and improvements to the Purchase Order and Procurement system to enable alignment to finance system workflows and procurement policy. This is a key role which will suit someone with financial reporting and PO change project experience and a keen interest in financial systems.

Main Duties:

• Run a project to improve financial reporting from X-ledger, working with stakeholders to develop robust financial management information
• Assess technical functionality and whether additional software is needed
• Enable project-based reporting, working with Head of Planning and the Data and Insight team to integrate financial data
• Lead engagement with stakeholders to launch new financial reports and accurate monthly reporting
• Work on a project to implement a new Purchase Order system aligning with procurement policy and developing PO functionality and workflows within X-ledger
• Review and update financial policy and procedures and work with stakeholders to launch the PO system supporting them through change
• Design, test, and deliver technical improvements to the systems, working with stakeholders and suppliers to deliver projects
• Support the Head of Finance, Finance Systems and Reporting Manager and the Financial Controller as required.

Person Specification:

• Qualified, QBE, or Part-Qualified ACCA/ CIMA / ACA preferred
• Experience within the charity sector
• Strong project accounting and systems accounting experience
• Strong Excel and systems skills
• Ideally experience with X - Ledger and PO / Purchase Ordering software
• Strong business partnering experience
