Support Worker

Looking for a support worker career in a challenging role working with adults with a Learning Disability, Autism or Developmental Impairments and associated Challenging Behaviour? We require motivated and dedicated individuals who have a desire to make a difference to the lives of the people we support. Experience is not required and we provide on-going specialist training to support you in the role. A career where no two days are the same. Join our vibrant and rapidly expanding team. About Us

Zeno Limited is a specialist independent provider of innovative and dynamic services for adults with a learning disability and associated developmental impairments in the South Manchester area. We take a complete life approach, from supporting young people in their family home through to supporting adults of all ages within the community. We support people across the whole spectrum of developmental impairments, including the autistic spectrum and associated mental health impairments.

Job Role / Activities

We specialize in supporting people to take part in community therapeutic activities such as hiking in the Peak District, rock climbing, horse riding, cycling, swimming and boating. We also provide support for people to take control and have more choice in their lives and to learn how to prepare meals, use a washing machine, manage their own finances and look after their home. We can offer support to a person in their family home/own home or within one of our 24 hour supported living services. You may be required to provide personal care for male and female supported people.

Driving Status

Due to our focus on activities it will be advantageous if you hold a full driving licence, as activities in the community form the central ethos of the company. Whilst it is not essential, applicants who can drive will be a given a higher priority. (You do not need your own car)

Candidate requirements

As we support individuals to have an active life and you may have to deal with some level of challenging behaviour, we need our support workers to have a stay fit and active to assist our supported people whilst on these activities and to keep them safe. The job involves activities every day, for example walking and hiking.

As there is a lot of communication and paperwork for the people we support, applicants must be able to write clearly. Being able to communicate in English is essential, both within the staff team but also for the benefit of the people we support, who may have a lot of difficulty with communication. Role Information and Benefits

All jobs are full time and involve shift patterns including sleep shifts and weekend work

Shifts are notified to staff on a flexible rota, rotas are published for 4 weeks in advance
