Special Needs Supply Teaching Assistant

  • £60-£75 per day (depending on experience)

Empowering Learning are currently looking to speak to experienced special needs teaching assistants who are looking for more flexibility with positions. This position will be based on a part time basis with full time hours (school day). This position will be working in a special school based in Manchester and starting as soon as possible.

The primary school supports pupils that have special needs such as autism and severe learning difficulties (SLD).

Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEND- more specifically Autism and SLD
  • Delivering 1:1 work when needed
  • Offer support to teacher with preparing, feedback and delivering sessions
  • Providing emotional support to pupils along with behaviour management when needed

Job Requirements

  • Recent experience working in a special needs school (within last 2 years) or residential setting
  • Worked with Special Needs more specifically Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties
  • Comfortable working in challenging situations
  • Strong behaviour management
  • Use of initiative
  • Ability to engage pupils in learning
  • Positive mindset
