Supply Chain Planning Manager


Location: Waltham Cross, Herts
Salary: circa £50,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, with one Sunday in six.
Core Hours: 40 hours per week – various shifts available, departmental coverage 6.00am to 6.00pm.

Our business is growing at such a rate, that we have restructured our Supply Chain Department and are actively recruiting for a Supply Chain Planning Manager.

The Supply Chain Planning Manager is responsible for a team of Supply Chain Planners, ensuring availability of products for customer orders and to minimise waste and reduce stock holding days.

Accountabilities include:

• Lead a team of material planners (conduct performance reviews, support development and training etc).
• To oversee collaboration between planners and forecast analysts and challenge / amend any discrepancies found to ensure accuracy of orders placed.
• Assisting the Head of Supply Chain with any developments required to improve performance.
• To represent Supply Chain to the wider business with a focus on daily requirements and meetings.
• Ensuring the team operate within a business focussed, cost effective manner, meeting targets with a consistent approach.
• To investigate and report on any stock / sales discrepancies raised daily.
• Supplier Engagement and Management – to ensure compliance, service and performance metrics.
• Seasonal Changeover and Event Management – ensure all supply chain requirements are set up accurately and in a timely manner.

To be successful in your application for the role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent, within a Supply Chain discipline.
• Previous work experience in a Supply Chain environment, preferably in a FMCG environment covering materials management.
• Experience in people management within an office environment, demonstrating key leadership skills.
• A high-level understanding of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to present key data effectively and in a readily understandable manner.
• Experience of recommending and implementing process improvements.
• Experience of the Chilled or Fresh Food Industry would be advantageous.
