We are currently recruiting for a Stores Assistant within a large public sector organisation based in Manchester.

Duties will include:

  • Responsible for receiving, issuing and distributing materials and equipment including House Services stock items, checking correct quality and quantity prior to storing, issuing or distributing as appropriate
  • Responsible for the delivery of materials to the stores and to job specific sites utilising a range of university vehicles
  • Work to performance monitoring systems so as to provide evidence that the Facilities, Maintenance and Compliance Department is providing value for money
  • Work to the performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Contribute to the development of a customer focused service, promoting the Estates and Facilities Unit by establishing and maintaining working relationships throughout the University
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient, cost-effective working practices and quality service standards to ensure the provision of an effective maintenance service to the highest achievable standard demonstrating value for money

Desirable skills / qualifications:

  • Substantial experience of working in engineering/building stores
  • A clean driving licence is required
  • Must have a working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation 
  • Competent in using computer software – experience of using Oracle would be an advantage
