Stores and Stock Assistant

We are a well established manufacturing business located in Aldershot who are now recruiting for a Stores Person to join our existing team due to an internal promotion. You will be working as part of a small Stores team within a large organisation working Monday to Friday paying up to £28k dependent on experience with 25 days annual leave plus the bank holidays, free parking, pension scheme and life insurance.
The role entails supporting the Group Stores Team Leader in the smooth running of the stores department on a day to day basis including fork lift duties. To ensure success in this position you will need to be a self-motivated person who has the ability to work efficiently unsupervised and carry out duties in a safe and timely manner. You are required to be punctual, and you must possess a clean manual driving licence and have either a current transferrable Counterbalance Fork Lift licence or a recently expired Counterbalance Licence and be happy in a role that includes both Stores and Fork Lift duties.
• Receiving and despatching of stock to/from customers, toolmakers and other suppliers
• Issuing and receipt of consumables and non-stock items
• Administering electronic records and paperwork in line with procedures
• Ensuring the cleanliness, tidiness and safety of the off-site storage units
• Supporting the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles at the factory
• Controlling the recycling of cardboard waste from the factory using the cardboard bailer and the associated storage and tidiness of the area
• Driving Company Vehicles e.g. collection and delivery of materials and packing to/from our off-site storage facility, delivering parts to customers, collecting items from suppliers

The role would suit candidates who have previously worked within a Stores, Stock or Warehouse role before within a busy working environment. You will be PC literate including Microsoft office and be happy to work on your own as well as within a small team. You will have a full clean UK manual driving license, ideally a current Counterbalance Forklift Truck Basic Training accredited license or an inhouse certificate to provide us. You will also be self-motivated and have excellent organizational skills. Due to the nature of the role you will be physically fit and be happy to be on your feet most of the day.
